Mailchimp training in Zurich: 2 or 4 hours in your account, 1:1 or as a team

Training for SMEs, associations and agencies in Zurich and across Switzerland whose teams use Mailchimp day to day, or should: marketing, sales, administration, leadership. We work in your account with your contacts, as 1:1 coaching or with the whole team, in two or four hours. At the end you have what has been on the list for months: a clean audience, templates, one automation that runs, and a sign-up that stands up to Swiss data protection law. If you want to develop a Mailchimp strategy or hand the implementation to us, you get an individual quote. On-site in Zurich, across Switzerland, or remote.

Starting point

Why most Mailchimp accounts are used at ten percent

Almost every SME has a Mailchimp account. Most use it to send a newsletter every few months that one person assembles on a Friday afternoon. The audience is a CRM import from 2023, there are no tags, no segments, and the welcome email is Mailchimp's default text. Open rates keep falling because the domain was never authenticated. And nobody knows for sure whether the website sign-up is still permissible. The problem is rarely the tool. What is missing is one person on the team who really knows Mailchimp, and two to four hours in which the account is set up properly once. That is exactly what this training is.

From implementation

Taught by the people who build email automations for clients

The content does not come from course material but from years of process automation and marketing automation in enterprise and SME environments. The people who train are the same people who build and run lead nurturing, reactivation sequences and CRM integrations for clients, in Mailchimp and beyond. Every example in the workshop is a sequence that is running, including the mistakes made along the way and the fixes that held. Anyone who wants an automation built after the training gets it from the same hands.

What we do

What the Mailchimp training covers

  1. 01

Audience, tags and segments set up properly

One audience instead of five, tags for source and interest, groups for preferences, segments for sending. We clean up your existing contacts together, define the fields you actually need and decide how new contacts will enter from now on: forms, shop, CRM or import.

  2. 02

Campaigns and templates anyone on the team builds in 30 minutes

A template set in your tone and design: newsletter, product or offer email, invitation, customer letter. Plus the rules for subject lines, preview text, image sizes and buttons, so the next campaign no longer takes a Friday afternoon but half an hour.

  3. 03

    Automations: welcome, follow-up, reactivation

Customer journeys that go live during the session: a welcome sequence that onboards new contacts in three emails; a follow-up after an enquiry, quote or purchase; a reactivation for contacts who have not opened anything in six months. With conditions, delays and a rule for when a human takes over.

  4. 04

Deliverability: domain authentication, DMARC, list hygiene

Since 2024 Google and Yahoo require bulk senders to have SPF, DKIM and DMARC and a complaint rate below 0.3%. We authenticate your domain during the workshop, set up DMARC, configure unsubscribes correctly and agree a rhythm for cleaning inactive contacts, so your emails reach the inbox rather than spam.

  5. 05

revDSG-compliant sign-up and data protection with Mailchimp

Mailchimp stores data in the United States. We go through what that means for a Swiss company: consent under the Unfair Competition Act, double opt-in as proof, privacy policy, data processing and transfer, deletion on request and tracking settings. The result is a sign-up form and a checklist you can apply without a lawyer.

  6. 06

Copy and subject lines with AI, without sounding like AI

How Mailchimp's built-in AI features and ChatGPT or Claude help with drafts: a prompt set for subject lines, preview text and newsletter sections in your language, an A/B testing routine and the rule for what a human checks before sending.

How it runs

How the Mailchimp training runs

  1. 01

    Account check beforehand

You give us access to your Mailchimp account. We look at the audience, the last twelve months of campaigns, automations, domain status and sign-up paths, and send you one page with what we will tackle in the session.

  2. 02

    Goals and sequences

In a 30-minute call we decide which automations get built in the chosen format and which templates you need. We prepare sample copy and a design skeleton in your brand.

  3. 03

Hands-on session in your own account

You build, we guide. In two hours: audience, domain, sign-up and one automation. In four hours, additionally templates, two more automations and segments. Every sequence is tested with real test contacts before it goes live.

  4. 04

Playbook and review after 30 days

You receive a playbook with your templates, segments, automations and the data protection checklist. In the 4-hour format we review open, click and unsubscribe rates together after 30 days and decide what gets built next.

Everyone on the team builds a campaign in 30 minutes from your templates.

A prompt set for subject lines and copy that writes in your language.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about Mailchimp Training

Who is the Mailchimp training for?

For teams in SMEs, associations, practices, schools and agencies who want to run Mailchimp themselves: marketing, sales, administration, communications and leadership. No prior knowledge is needed. Teams already sending campaigns benefit most from segmentation, automations and deliverability; teams starting fresh get an account that is set up properly from day one.

Do we work in our own Mailchimp account during the workshop?

Yes, always. A demo account is useless when your own contacts, forms and templates look different. We ask for access beforehand so the account check happens before the workshop. Everything built on the day stays with you and runs from the next day.

Is Mailchimp compliant with Swiss data protection law?

Mailchimp can be run in compliance with revDSG if a few things are in place: valid consent under the Unfair Competition Act, a privacy policy that names Mailchimp and the transfer to the United States, Mailchimp's data processing agreement, a deletion process and appropriate tracking settings. We go through these points in your account during the workshop. The full picture is in our article on Mailchimp and data protection in Switzerland.

Do you also offer a strategy workshop or the implementation?

Yes, on request. If you first want to clarify what role email plays in your marketing, which segments and sequences are worth it and how Mailchimp works with your shop and CRM, we build a strategy workshop around your needs. And if you would rather not build the automations or the integration with Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot or Pipedrive yourself, we take over the implementation, from the same hands that ran the training. Both are quoted individually.

How many people can take part?

The 1:1 formats are for one person, the team formats for up to eight. With more participants or several locations we recommend two sessions, so everyone works in the account themselves instead of watching. Larger groups are quoted individually.

How is this different from an online Mailchimp course?

An online course explains Mailchimp. The training builds your Mailchimp. By the end of the session your audience is clean, your domain authenticated and at least one automation live, and you have done every step yourself. On top comes the part no course covers: what Swiss data protection law and the Unfair Competition Act require of your sign-up.

Which Mailchimp plan do we need for automations?

Simple welcome emails work on the Free plan; multi-step customer journeys with conditions need Standard or higher. We tell you in the account check which tier your planned sequences require and where a cheaper tier is enough. You pay for the licence directly with Mailchimp.

Next step

Which email should your Mailchimp send automatically from next week?

Tell us your account and the one sequence that has been missing for months. In the first call we tell you which format fits and what can realistically go live in two or four hours. Want a strategy workshop or implementation? We quote that too.
