Shopify Agency Switzerland: building, migrating and automating your online store
Hierarchy is a Shopify agency in Zurich for merchants across Switzerland. We build your Shopify store from scratch or move it from Magento, WooCommerce, Shopware, PrestaShop or a site builder. You get the whole store from one team: design, product data, checkout with TWINT, automations, SEO and a product catalogue approved by Google Merchant Center. Because our own migration workflows and AI agents handle most of the routine work, a store with us costs a fraction of what traditional web development charges for the same scope.

Starting point
The problem: the store costs more time than it sells
Many Swiss online stores run on systems that cost their team time every day: servers and security updates, plugins that get in each other's way, product data in several spreadsheets and orders processed by hand. At the same time, Google Shopping and AI assistants expect clean, structured product data. A new store alone doesn't fix that. It has to start with clean data, keep its rankings and automate the manual work behind it. That is what we build.
What we do
What we build for your Shopify store
- 01
New Shopify store
We build your online store end to end: theme and design, navigation and filters, product and collection pages, checkout, shipping, VAT, languages, legal pages and tracking. You get a finished store, not a data package.
- 02
Migration to Shopify
From Magento, WooCommerce, Shopware, PrestaShop, Wix, Jimdo or a custom build: products, variants, customers, order history and all old URLs come along. A complete redirect mapping makes sure your Google rankings come with them.
- 03
Our own migration workflows and MCP servers
Through the Model Context Protocol, our AI agents work directly with your old store and the Shopify Admin API. They clean attributes, fill in copy and metadata from verified sources and create products in a structured way. Your team approves what goes into the store.
- 04
Automations and workflows
Inventory sync with ERP or suppliers, enrichment of new products, tagging and customer segments, order review, low-stock alerts and feeds for Google and marketplaces. It saves your team hours every day.
- 05
Google Merchant Center, SEO and Shopping ads
Every store we set up is approved by Google Merchant Center. On the same product data we build structured data, SEO and GEO for Google and AI assistants, plus Shopping ads and Performance Max.
How it runs
How a Shopify project with us works
- 01
Assessment
Catalogue, languages, payment methods, integrations, URLs and rankings. Afterwards you know what the store needs and whether a move pays off.
- 02
Data model & design
What products, variants and collections look like in Shopify, which system leads for which data, and how the store looks.
- 03
Build & migration
Store build, data migration through our workflows and MCP servers, automations, Merchant Center and redirects, approved by your team.
- 04
Go-live & growth
Testing every redirect, switchover, close monitoring in the first weeks. After that we keep building visibility and campaigns if you want.
In practice
Magento 2 to Shopify, with a product database and AI agents
For an established retailer we built the move from Magento 2 to Shopify on a central product database: data cleaned, synced bidirectionally with Shopify, and AI agents on top for product copy, attributes and SEO. Since then the team maintains products in a fraction of the time and approves instead of typing. The store is faster, needs less maintenance, and new channels pull their data from the same source.
What changes
What changes
- 01
A store without servers, security updates or plugin conflicts to run.
- 02
Product data maintained once that arrives complete in the store, in Google Shopping and on marketplaces.
- 03
Automations that take hours of manual work off your team every day.
- 04
Rankings that survive the move, and a catalogue approved by Google Merchant Center.
- 05
CHF, Swiss VAT, multiple languages and TWINT at checkout.

What does a Shopify agency do?
A Shopify agency builds, migrates and looks after online stores on Shopify. At Hierarchy that covers designing and building the store, migrating products, customers and URLs from the old system, automations for inventory and orders, Google Merchant Center approval, and SEO, GEO and Shopping ads. Marketing and engineering sit in the same team.
How much does it cost to have a Shopify store built?
It depends on catalogue, design, languages, integrations and automations. Because our migration workflows and agents handle most of the routine work, the effort is a fraction of what traditional web development needs for the same scope. After the assessment you get a concrete offer.
Can you migrate our existing store to Shopify?
Yes, from Magento 1 and 2, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, Shopware, PrestaShop, Wix, Jimdo, Squarespace and custom builds. Products, variants, customers, order history and all relevant URLs come along. Our case study shows what that looks like for a grown Magento catalogue.
Will we keep our Google rankings during the migration?
We make sure of it with a complete 301 redirect mapping for every old URL with traffic, rankings or backlinks, with titles, meta descriptions and category copy carried over, with structured data and with a test of every redirect before go-live. Short-term fluctuations are normal; lasting losses usually come from missing redirects.
Does TWINT work in Shopify?
Yes. Depending on the setup, TWINT can be connected through Shopify Payments, which is available in Switzerland, or through a payment provider such as Datatrans. We work out which route fits based on your existing contracts.
What does Google Merchant Center approved mean?
Google Merchant Center checks product data, prices, availability, shipping and return policies, contact details and checkout. Only after approval do your products appear in Google Shopping, in free product listings and in Shopping ads. Every store we set up is approved by Google Merchant Center.
Do you only work in Zurich?
No. Our office is in Zurich, and we build Shopify stores for merchants across Switzerland. Workshops and sign-offs take place at your office, at ours or remotely.
