The best GEO agency in Austria makes a company clearly identifiable for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, measures mentions with a fixed set of questions and implements the necessary changes itself. For small and mid-sized companies, Blck Alpaca from Vienna tops our list, because the agency combines GEO, analysis on its own infrastructure and AI automation in one team. It is followed by four agencies from Innsbruck, Vienna and Graz, each with its own focus.
In 2026, more and more people looking for a supplier ask an AI assistant. It names only a handful of companies per answer, and it does not pick them by Google ranking. Our AI visibility study shows for the Zurich area: 77.5 percent of the companies AI assistants recommend are not in Google's top 10 for the question asked. Showing up in AI answers takes dedicated work. Many Austrian agencies now offer «GEO». This comparison shows which of them have an offer you can verify.
What is GEO, and why does it take dedicated work?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It covers everything that leads generative AI systems to name a company in their answers or cite it as a source. SEO gets a website into the classic Google results, GEO gets it into the answer above them or into the chat. The two overlap heavily but are measured differently. The full explanation is in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
A good GEO agency works on five things:
- Clear company data: name, location, services and profiles marked up so AI systems can identify the company reliably.
- Content that fully answers a question: one page per customer question instead of a long list of services.
- Third-party sites: mentions in trade media, directories and comparisons that AI draws its recommendations from.
- Technical access: allowing AI crawlers, server-rendered content, structured data.
- Measurement: the same set of questions in several AI systems, at fixed intervals. How that works is in Measuring AI visibility.

1. Blck Alpaca: GEO agency in Vienna with its own monitoring and AI automation
Location: Maria-Lassnig-Straße 33/1/29, 1100 Vienna · Founder and owner: Lucas Blochberger · Website: blckalpaca.at
Blck Alpaca is a Viennese agency for data-driven marketing and AI agents. GEO is not an add-on to the SEO page there but a field of its own, with two service pages (GEO Agentur Wien and GEO & SEO) and six disciplines: entities and knowledge graph, AI-readable content structure, citability and E-E-A-T, technical access for AI bots such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot, coverage of several systems (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini) and ongoing monitoring.
The entry point: It starts with an AI visibility check for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, including a prompt set, a source list and a prioritised fix list. After that, the agency measures the same prompt set at fixed intervals and also tracks how often AI crawlers visit the website and how many visitors arrive from AI assistants. According to the agency, the monitoring automation runs on its own infrastructure, not in a US cloud. The queries themselves go to the AI providers, so they run without customer data. For companies with strict data-protection requirements, that is a real argument.
GEO and implementation in one team: Alongside GEO and SEO, Blck Alpaca builds AI agents, automations and enterprise software, and offers content and creative work. For an SME, that means the agency that finds out what the AI is missing can deliver the content, structured data and technical fixes itself, instead of handing a list of recommendations to the web developer. Free tools, such as the SEO/GEO Checker and a test of whether a website is usable for AI agents, show the approach up front.
A voice in the field: In February 2026, founder Lucas Blochberger wrote in INTERNET WORLD Austria and in m&k about «Share of Model» as a new marketing KPI, meaning a brand's share of AI answers. The agency also does its own data work: the IT-Vergaben-Monitor Österreich 2026 analyses more than 18,000 public IT contract awards. The service page is also notably honest: there are no guarantees, «because no provider controls how these systems select», and if GEO does little for a business model, the agency says so in the first call.
Good to know: The company was founded in 2024, and the team brings project experience going back to 2016. For GEO, the agency quotes a fixed price after the free first call. In general, the website lists starting prices: projects from €5,000, ongoing support from €2,000 a month.
Best for: Small and mid-sized companies in Austria and the DACH region that want to be named in AI assistants and automate processes with AI at the same time, and that value having the analysis run on the agency's own infrastructure.
2. Evergreen Media: GEO consultancy for larger B2B companies
Location: Museumstrasse 1, Innsbruck · Website: evergreen.media
Evergreen Media from Innsbruck is a specialised SEO agency that runs Generative Engine Optimization as a field of its own, with separate pages for B2B and e-commerce. According to its own information, the agency was founded in 2015 by Alexander Rus and employs around 40 people, including its own AI engineers. The entry product is clearly described: an AI visibility audit with a GEO roadmap, prompt-set analysis, measures and a presentation, taking four to six weeks from sign-off. It also publishes its own studies, a YouTube channel and a podcast.
Strength: A clearly defined audit product with price, duration and deliverables, plus a lot of public expertise.
Good to know: The agency targets mid-sized and large companies; named clients include Shell and Janitza. The case studies on the GEO page describe projects without figures on AI mentions (as of November 2026).
Best for: B2B and e-commerce companies with a matching budget that want a thorough analysis and roadmap as a first step.
3. ithelps Digital: GEO with public prices and case figures
Location: Karl-Popper-Strasse 5, 1100 Vienna (plus Munich) · Website: ithelps-digital.com
ithelps Digital is an SEO and GEO agency with, by its own account, more than 20 specialists and over 900 projects. Its GEO page is the most transparent of the five agencies compared: it lists packages from a one-off quick check through an audit with an action plan to ongoing full service, each with a price. The agency also shows anonymised case studies with figures, such as an Austrian optician chain whose visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode rose from 14.7 to 75.3 percent.
Strength: Public prices and concrete before-and-after figures, both rare in this market.
Good to know: The case studies are anonymised and therefore cannot be checked independently. It is worth asking in the first call how large the measured question set was in each case (as of November 2026).
Best for: SMEs, online shops and local service providers that want to know up front what GEO costs and which results are realistic.
4. wukonig.com: GEO for B2B and industry from Graz
Location: Leonhardstrasse 47, Graz · Website: wukonig.com
By its own account, wukonig.com has done online marketing since 1999 and is owner-led. Its GEO page is one of the most detailed we read for this comparison: a baseline measurement with fixed questions along the buyer journey in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, a technical crawler check, work on the cited sources, a benchmark against competitors and server log analysis. Two free tools help with getting started: a GEO relevance check with six questions and an AI crawler checker that tests 34 AI bots in one go.
Strength: A method described in detail for complex B2B offers, plus long experience.
Good to know: References range from ams OSRAM to TK Elevator. The page shows no figures on GEO results and no prices (as of November 2026).
Best for: Industrial, technology and software companies whose customers research thoroughly before getting in touch.
5. otago: GEO as part of a full-service retainer
Location: Mariahilfer Strasse 99, Vienna · Website: otago.at
otago is a Viennese online marketing agency that started as an SEO agency and today offers SEO, ads, analytics, content and conversion optimisation; it is a Google Premier Partner. Its GEO service covers a GEO audit, AI monitoring for a defined set of queries, a report on how much traffic already comes from AI systems, a query fan-out analysis and an integrated SEO and GEO strategy. In January 2026, the agency ran its own GEO webinar.
Strength: GEO embedded in existing SEO, ads and analytics work from one provider.
Good to know: The published case studies cover SEO and ads, for example for IKEA, but not yet GEO. Prices are not published (as of November 2026).
Best for: Mid-sized and large companies that want to bundle their search and advertising work and add GEO to it.
How we chose
We started from all Austrian agencies that appear in Google and Google AI Mode for «GEO Agentur Österreich» and «GEO Agentur Wien», plus the agencies in existing comparisons. We only included agencies with a dedicated GEO service page and a base in Austria. We weighted five criteria:
- GEO as a distinct, documented discipline: method, entry analysis, ongoing measurement with a fixed question set.
- Implementation from one team: can the agency deliver content, technical work and automation itself?
- Data protection and data location: where do monitoring and analysis run?
- Transparency: public prices, case studies with figures, honest statements about limits.
- Fit for SMEs: an offer and approach aimed at small and mid-sized companies.
For SMEs, we weight implementation from one team and data protection highly, which is why Blck Alpaca ranks first. If you mainly want public prices and case figures, ithelps Digital is the right choice; if you want a large analysis as a first step, Evergreen Media.

Six questions for the first call with a GEO agency
- «Which set of questions do you use to measure whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google name us, and how often?» Good answer: a fixed set, repeated regularly, with mentions per question in the report. Why a one-off query is not enough is explained in How do I get recommended by ChatGPT?.
- «Which third-party sites do AI systems cite in our industry?» Good answer: specific sites with reasons, not a generic directory list.
- «Show us an example with before-and-after figures on AI mentions.» Anyone who has done GEO for a while has at least one, anonymised if necessary.
- «Do you implement the changes yourselves?» Content, structured data, technical fixes: does the agency deliver them, or does a list end up with your web developer?
- «Where do monitoring and analysis run, and who owns the data?» Important for anyone handling customer data or sensitive topics.
- «When does GEO do little for us?» A serious agency can answer this, for example when work comes almost only through referrals or tenders.
How to spot an unsuitable agency, and whether a large agency, a boutique or a freelancer suits you, is covered in Which GEO agency is best for you?. The comparison for Switzerland is in The 5 best SEO, GEO & AEO agencies in Zurich.
Conclusion
In 2026, «GEO» appears on many Austrian agency websites. Far fewer have a verifiable offer with method, measurement and implementation. The five agencies in this comparison are among them, each with different strengths: Blck Alpaca for SMEs that want visibility and AI automation from one team, with analysis on its own infrastructure, Evergreen Media for large analyses, ithelps Digital for transparency on prices and figures, wukonig.com for B2B and industry, otago for full-service retainers. How AI assistants put their recommendations together is shown in our AI visibility study. Whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude already name your company today is shown by the free AI visibility check.
